He has extensive research achievements in the fields of human environment systems, eco-industrial parks, low-carbon cities, circular economy, and energy big data analysis. Dr. Farhan Mohamed is the Head of the Department of Emergent Computing, Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and a Research Fellow at the Media and Game Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGICX). He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Swansea University. He was a Leaders in Innovation Fellow (LIF) of the Royal Academy of Engineering, United Kingdom in 2017, reflecting his active involvement in international innovation and research collaborations. His research interests include visual intelligence, artificial intelligence, computer vision, medical image analysis, data visualization, extended reality (XR), and digital twin technologies. He has led and collaborated on various multidisciplinary research and industry projects involving AI-powered healthcare systems, medical visualization, industrial digital twins, and interactive intelligent environments. Dr. Farhan is a Senior Member of IEEE and currently serves as an Executive Committee member of the IEEE Computer Society Malaysia. Prof. Dr. Mohd Shahizan Othman is an Associate Professor in Information Systems at the Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is the former Director (CIO) of the Centre for Information and Communication Technology (CICT) at UTM and holds a PhD in Information Technology (Information Science) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, along with a Master’s in Information Technology and Bachelor’s in Computer Science. A registered Professional Technologist and IEEE Senior Member, he has secured 38 research grants, published 145 papers (96 Scopus-indexed documents), supervised 66 postgraduate students (35 PhD). He has been involved in more than 30 major consultancy and system development projects for government agencies and industries. His expertise spans information systems, e-learning, knowledge management, data analytics, artificial intelligence, IoT, and smart systems. With a distinguished career marked by numerous innovation awards and major national consultancy projects such as the National Smart City Blueprint and the National Artificial Intelligence Roadmap, Dr. Mohd Shahizan remains deeply committed to digital transformation and higher education excellence. |
